Climbing as a Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Tool
The wide variety of movements, postures and joint positions makes for excellent training for rehabilitating injured joints. Trauma injuries such as torn or sprained ligaments, and fractures once healed in ankles and knees, shoulders, elbows and wrists, show improvement following gentle climbing-based treatment.
Improvement has also been seen following climbing-based treatment for common conditions such as recurring shoulder dislocations, chronic back pain, herniated discs, sciatic pain, and chronic tendinitis.
