Climbing and Hypotonia
Hypotonia can bring developmental delays and/or impairments, clumsiness in movement, learning difficulties, and difficulty concentrating. Various treatments for hypotonia focus on raising muscle tone through muscle awareness and practicing the muscle against resistance.
Climbing is especially well-suited to treating hypotonia, since it requires many muscle groups to work at once, engages a large variety of movements, and works very effectively on the tone of the core and postural muscles.
